President’s Report for 2016
Each year that we complete, and our Association is still intact and functioning, I call that successful.
The reason I say this, is because I have seen so many community organization dissolve after a few years of operation, for so many reasons. So, as a group we should be proud of our track record.
We continue to serve our community and help individuals who are in need; as you are all aware this is our 20th year in existence, and continuing to help the Village.
The year 2016 was as successful as the preceding 19 years
Thank you all members…everyone who brings with them specialized skills, knowledge, and passion who give freely of their time to directly and indirectly assist our organization in meeting its goals, vision, mission and values. You need not look far to find these people, they are involved in organizing/helping at the annual dance and picnic as well as behind the scenes, attending meetings, upkeeping of the website, photography, cooking and so much more. It is my pleasure to be associated with all of you and my special thanks for all that you contribute.
Our two feature fund-raising events, the Picnic and our fall Dance were both successful.
The picnic was well attended, more Kids and families attended this year.
The Dance was also well attended, we had fun while raising some much-needed funds for the organization.
Thanks to the many members for volunteering their time to make these two events so successful over the years.
Some of our accomplishments for 2016 are:
A huge shout out to the Volunteers who year after year purchased the goods, packaged the items, contact the residents and conscientiously do the distribution.
On the Village front
The police station is now temporary located in the cottage by the primary School
Again, thanks to our hardworking committee and the support from donors, members and friends. The commitment and dedication to giving back to our community has not gone unnoticed.
Our organization will continue to support the Village its schools, community events and most importantly the people who are in need.
In reflecting on my personal goals and commitments as well as those of our organization I am pleased to announce my commitment to you and our organization. I remain passionate about our community of Lluidas Vale and our committee here in Toronto, Canada.
